During this heat wave, all departments in the region were placed under an orange heat wave alert by Météo France for at least one day. The Vaucluse department experienced the highest number of days under an orange heat wave alert (13 days).
• A regional analysis of emergency care utilization shows an increase in emergency room visits, hospitalizations, and SOS Médecins calls for the iCanicule composite indicator during the second heat wave, though these levels remained lower than those observed during the previous heat wave.
• Over the entire episode, 730 emergency room visits related to iCanicule across all age groups (0.8% of total activity) were recorded, followed by 438 hospitalizations (a hospitalization rate of 60%), as well as 159 SOS Médecins medical interventions for all age groups (0.7% of total activity).
