Smallpox B (Mpox)

• Since week 26, an increase in the number of Mpox cases has been observed in Mayotte, with 8 new cases reported since the end of June.
• Since the beginning of 2026, 43 cases of Mpox have been reported in Mayotte, including 19 imported cases, 23 locally acquired cases, and 1 case with an undetermined epidemiological status.
• High-risk sexual exposure remains the most likely mode of transmission, reported in 34 out of 43 cases (79%) since the beginning of the year, including 5 of the 8 cases recorded since Week 26.

Acute Gastroenteritis

• One case of rotavirus A was detected in week 30, marking the sporadic resumption of virus detection as the virus approaches its usual seasonal circulation period.
• An increase in sales of anti-diarrheal medications and oral rehydration solutions (ORS) has been observed since week 28, with an average weekly level of 401 sales over the past three weeks.

Hepatitis A

• 34 cases of hepatitis A have been reported in Mayotte since the beginning of 2026, including 2 new cases reported in week 30.
• The virus has been circulating intermittently for the past six weeks.
