Key Points 

Leptospirosis 

  • The seasonal increase in leptospirosis cases, which peaked in March, has since been on a downward trend. To date, 204 locally acquired cases have been reported.

Dengue and Chikungunya

  • 48 cases of chikungunya and 273 cases of dengue have been detected since the beginning of the year. The weekly number of dengue cases remains stable.

Flu-like illness 

  • Health and virological indicators remain stable.

Bronchiolitis in children under 1 year of age 

  • Health indicators are on the rise, linked to increased circulation of the rhinovirus in Réunion.

Acute gastroenteritis

  • Health indicators are declining.

COVID-19 

  • No health impact in hospitals and no circulation of SARS-CoV-2. 

Smallpox B (Mpox)

  • During the month of June, 5 cases imported from Madagascar were reported, bringing the total to 20 cases (including 15 imported cases) since the beginning of the year.
