Key Points 

Malaria

• Seven new cases were reported in week 29, including six imported cases and one case currently under investigation.
• Since the beginning of 2026, 276 cases of malaria have been recorded, including 56 locally acquired cases and 199 imported cases, mostly from the Comoros.
• Two severe cases were admitted to the intensive care unit in week 29, bringing the total number of hospitalized patients since the beginning of the year to 75.

Smallpox B (Mpox)

• Since late June, 7 new cases of Mpox have been identified, including 3 imported cases, 3 locally acquired cases, and 1 case whose status remains undetermined.
• Forty-two cases have been confirmed since the beginning of 2026, including 19 imported cases and 22 locally acquired cases.
• 81% of cases reported risky sexual exposure as the likely mode of transmission.

Waterborne Diseases

• Hepatitis A: 28 biologically confirmed cases since the beginning of 2026, with low-level circulation; a 56% decrease in cases has been observed compared to the same period in 2025.
• Typhoid fever: 8 cases reported since the beginning of 2026, with sporadic distribution of cases during the period.

Chikungunya

• 1 new case was recorded in week 29
• Since the beginning of 2026, 1,396 biologically confirmed cases have been recorded.

Acute gastroenteritis

• Rotavirus A circulation remains low, with no signs of an outbreak at this stage, and the trend is less pronounced than that observed in 2025 during the same period prior to the start of the outbreak in week S31.
