Extreme Heat, Heat Wave

• The seasonal alert period has been extended through September 30, 2026.
  Brittany has been on green alert since the last heatwave in August, and we are seeing a return to seasonal norms in the number of emergency room visits and SOS Médecins consultations for heat-related conditions, which, as a reminder, include hyperthermia, dehydration, and, in the case of emergency room visits, hyponatremia.

Asthma

• Activity remains low, but there has been an increase in the number of emergency room visits associated with the start of the school year (August 31–September 6) among children under 15.

Allergies

• Activity related to allergies has remained relatively stable, both in emergency rooms and at SOS Médecins, since the beginning of summer. Case numbers are within seasonal norms. Interpreting the data provided by SOS Médecins remains difficult due to the lack of data from SOS Brest and calls for vigilance.

Gastroenteritis

• Activity levels in Brittany are considered low, with a continued decline in emergency department visits and stable SOS Médecins consultations.

ENT Conditions

• Activity has been low since the summer. However, there has been a slight overall increase in activity related to ENT conditions, primarily among children under 5 and in emergency departments.
