Key points

Bronchiolitis (under 1 year of age)

  • No epidemic activity. Low number of visits to hospital emergency departments and SOS Médecins consultations. Low detection of RSV according to virology laboratories at university hospitals in the region. Other viruses capable of causing bronchiolitis are circulating, notably metapneumoviruses and rhinoviruses. End of surveillance for the 2025–2026 season.

COVID-19

  • Low activity.

Influenza and influenza-like illness

  • Activity outside of an epidemic.

Gastroenteritis

  • Moderate activity. Slight increase in emergency room visits and decrease in SOS Médecins consultations, across all age groups.

Pneumonia

  • Decrease in emergency room visits and stable SOS Médecins consultations.

Asthma

  • Moderate activity. Emergency room visits and SOS Médecins consultations remain stable.

Allergies

  • Slight increase in SOS Médecins consultations and emergency room visits.

Chickenpox

  • Slight increase in emergency room visits and SOS Médecins consultations.

ENT conditions

  • In S15, among children under 5, ENT conditions accounted for 15% of emergency room visits and 50% of SOS Médecins consultations.
  • High detection rates of rhinoviruses/enteroviruses by the virology laboratories at the Rennes University Hospital (12/68, positivity rate = 18%) and the Brest University Hospital (28/154, positivity rate = 18%).
