Public Health France Barometers

The Santé publique France Health Barometer: a survey of health-related behaviors, opinions, and knowledge designed to guide public health prevention and education policies.

In 2023, Santé publique France launched the 14th edition of the “Health Barometers” with the aim of obtaining new estimates of indicators to guide and evaluate prevention policies.

As with previous editions of this initiative, the sample was selected using a random generation of landline and mobile phone numbers.

The fieldwork for the survey took place from February 14, 2023, to May 27, 2024. In total, 3,007 people aged 18 to 85, residing in mainland France and speaking French, responded to the questionnaire. The average duration of the telephone interviews was 35 minutes.

Various topics were addressed: the environment, climate change, addictions (tobacco, alcohol, cannabis), vaccination, sedentary lifestyles, mental health, antibiotic resistance, accident-prone behaviors, and health literacy.
