Office of Public Outreach and Dissemination

The Directorate of Public Assistance and Outreach brings together the departments of Santé publique France that interact directly with the public—both the general public and professionals—such as individuals seeking information or assistance on a health-related issue, and clients of our outreach service (professionals, individuals, and field workers).

This direct service to the public is structured around two service offerings:

  • the printing, purchase, and distribution of prevention materials (printing of brochures, posters, etc.; distribution of free condoms)

  • remote health support services (hotlines, websites, and contact options via phone, websites with chat features, emails, Q&A sections, forums, etc.)

Regarding the printing and distribution services, the department ensures:

  • the production of documents and its monitoring, monitoring of the printing process from the initial request to stock arrival. It is also responsible, as part of a user relations strategy, for managing stock and distributing the agency’s printed materials and prevention supplies.

  • in collaboration with regional health agencies, the supply of free male and female condoms to prevention associations throughout the country.

Regarding remote assistance, the department:

  • responds to requests for information, advice, support, and guidance related to situations involving the use of psychoactive substances or gambling addiction through three support services combining hotlines (open 7 days a week, from 8 a.m. to 2 a.m.) and websites

It is also responsible for compiling, updating, and making publicly available the directory of all specialized addiction treatment facilities (nearly 3,000 facilities).

  • oversees the Tabac Info Service program

  • manages the grant and partnership policies for community support programs

  • serves as a point of contact both internally and with partners, and oversees the “Aide en Santé” certification program.
