Body Mass Index of Children in Their Final Year of Preschool in Metropolitan France and the Overseas Departments: Regional Variations and Urban Disparities.

Since 1999, the Ministry of National Education and the Ministry of Employment and Solidarity have joined forces, in partnership with the InVS, to conduct a three-year cycle of surveys on children’s health in schools. The relationship between children’s body weight, regional distribution, and markers of urban lifestyle was analyzed using data collected from kindergarten graduates during the first wave of surveys in this cycle in 1999–2000.
