Asthma Surveillance. Weekly Update for October 9, 2018.
Key Points - Week 40 (October 1–7, 2018)
Nationwide, five weeks after the start of the school year, asthma-related visits among children are on the rise in the SOS Médecins network (+9.5%) and stable in emergency departments. In emergency departments, the proportion of hospitalizations following asthma-related visits is stable compared to last week. In both networks, activity is higher than in the previous two years.
In the Indian Ocean, seven weeks after the start of the school year, emergency room visits for asthma among children are stable. The number of hospitalizations following visits has decreased sharply.
