Key Points - Week 39 (September 24–30, 2018)

  • Nationwide, four weeks after the start of the school year, emergency room visits and visits to SOS Médecins clinics for asthma among children are decreasing (by 12.4% and 8.8%, respectively). In emergency rooms, the proportion of hospitalizations following visits for asthma remains stable compared to last week.

  • In the Indian Ocean, six weeks after the start of the school year, emergency room visits for asthma among children have decreased slightly (-7.7%) but remain slightly higher than in the same period over the past three years.
