• In the Indian Ocean region, in Week 36—the third week of the school year in Réunion—the number of emergency department visits for asthma among children under 15 continued to rise. The proportion of such visits also increased (9.8% in Week 36 vs. 8.6% in Week 35) and was at a level comparable to that of previous years.

• Nationally, in Week 36—the first week of the school year in mainland France, French Guiana, Guadeloupe, and Martinique—visits for asthma among children under 15 rose sharply in emergency departments (+108%, or +756 visits) and at SOS Médecins clinics (+61%, or +105 cases) compared to the previous week. Activity levels were also up in both networks, but remained at low levels comparable to those of previous years.
