Public Health France 2018 Conference: A Successful Third Edition

The third edition of the Santé publique France Conference took place on May 29, 30, and 31, 2018, at the Université des Saints Pères in Paris. Over the course of three days, more than 1,100 people attended lectures, sessions, and workshops and shared their experiences in health surveillance, prevention, and intervention. A look back at three highly informative days.

A must-attend event in the field of public health, this year’s Rencontres de Santé publique France welcomed nearly 100 speakers from France and abroad to participate in and lead two plenary sessions, as well as 12 thematic sessions and two workshops. Public health professionals, institutional representatives, scientists, associations, and volunteers were present to discuss a wide range of current topics, such as: Nutri-Score, its challenges, and its role in nutrition policy; alerts and responses: how do we move from a signal to an alert; and how to protect health in the face of climate change.

New for this 3rd edition: a session co-organized with the College of General Medicine on the theme "Talking with Adolescents About Their Health," as well as a last-minute session during which recent public health news and highlights were presented in a concise format. Ten presentations followed one another on topics as varied as "Tobacco use in France: initial results from the 2017 Health Barometer," "Autism spectrum disorders in the regions: from investigating suspected clusters to localized epidemiological surveillance," "Salmonellosis outbreak in S. Agona among infants linked to infant formula, December 2017"…
