Online reporting of tuberculosis is now available to reporters on e-do

The e-do app, launched in 2016 by Santé publique France, now includes a feature for reporting tuberculosis online. Available since April 14, 2022, to reporters and other stakeholders involved in tuberculosis surveillance, this tool streamlines the reporting process and allows health authorities to receive reports in real time. Tutorials, brochures, videos… learn all about the e-do tuberculosis project.

Tuberculosis

thematic dossier

Tuberculosis is a contagious disease that primarily affects the lungs. It is spread through the air. The BCG vaccine given to children primarily protects against severe forms of the disease.

Mandatory Reporting of Tuberculosis: Objectives and Challenges

Coordinated by Santé publique France, the mandatory tuberculosis reporting system provides data on the number and characteristics of individuals with tuberculosis infection or disease, as well as epidemiological trends, in order to guide prevention, screening, and care efforts and to provide information for evaluating tuberculosis control measures.

Thus, clinicians and laboratory professionals, whether in the public or private sector, are required to submit to health authorities individual data regarding diagnosed cases of active tuberculosis or latent tuberculosis infection in children, as well as the treatment outcomes for active tuberculosis.

e-do tuberculosis: everything you need to know about electronic tuberculosis reporting

Following its implementation in regional health agencies (ARS) in July 2019, electronic tuberculosis reporting has been available to reporters since April 14, 2022. Paper reporting is therefore expected to be phased out in favor of electronic reporting.

Report a case of tuberculosis in just a few minutes using the e-do app

The app is accessible at www.e-do.fr, where a secure connection is established using a CPS family card.

Once in the e-DO app, the reporter selects the tuberculosis report they wish to submit and fills out the online reporting form. With a single click at the end of the process, the reporter sends their report electronically to regional health authorities.
All other stakeholders involved in tuberculosis surveillance (Tuberculosis Control Centers (CLAT), regional health agencies, the National Tuberculosis Reference Center (CNR-tuberculosis), Santé publique France, and medical laboratories), who have received prior training, are integrated into the system and can participate, each with their own specific role (validation, requesting additional information, verification, etc.).
