Extreme cold, icy winds, and snow are weather hazards that should not be overlooked. They can be harmful to health. It is therefore essential to be extra vigilant by taking personal precautions and paying special attention to vulnerable individuals (the elderly, children, and people living in precarious conditions or who are homeless).

In accordance with the national guide on the prevention and management of health and social impacts related to cold waves, the seasonal alert is in effect from November 1, 2016, to March 31, 2017, unless specific weather conditions warrant its continuation.
