Analysis of the reasons for contacting VIH Info soignants in France, 1998–2003.

In France, the association Sida Info Service (SIS) has developed VIH Info Soignants (VIS), a service designed to listen to, inform, guide, and support healthcare workers (HCWs) dealing with HIV-related issues, including the care of people living with HIV/AIDS and the management of accidental blood exposure incidents (ABE). This study, presented in this article, identifies the categories of HCWs who sought assistance from VIS and analyzes the reasons for these requests between 1998 and 2003. (Excerpt)
