The AIDS Situation in France as of September 30, 1986

As of September 30, 1986, the number of cases reported to the DGS under the program established in March 1982 had reached 1,050. The average number of new cases reported was 14.9 per week (in 1985: 5.7 cases). There has been a spread of the epidemic outside the Paris region (which still accounts for 54% of cases), and a sharp increase in cases among drug users who inject drugs.
