Home testing kits for sexually transmitted infections: How are LGBT populations being addressed?

Introduction: Every day, more than one million people worldwide contract a sexually transmitted infection, which is asymptomatic in the majority of cases. In France, testing is primarily conducted in private or public medical laboratories, following a prescription from a healthcare professional. However, access to these tests faces numerous structural and social barriers for lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) individuals, which at-home self-testing kits appear to be able to partially overcome. Through a review of existing systems, this study examined how the needs and specificities of sexual minorities are taken into account in the implementation of these interventions.
