Cases of EPC in France. Epidemiological situation as of December 31, 2016

Every year since 2010, Santé publique France has compiled a report on outbreaks involving carbapenem-resistant bacteria (CRBs) reported through the external reporting system for healthcare-associated infections, by the national reference center, or by private laboratories, and for which the production of a carbapenemase has been confirmed. An outbreak is defined as one or more cases infected or colonized by a CRB and linked by a chain of epidemiological transmission.
