Consolidated results of Flash Survey #22 (August 31, 2021)
3,508 samples from 17 regions/territories in mainland France and overseas territories (21.7% of the 16,165 positive cases reported today), of which 3,265 yielded interpretable results.
The following variants of concern were detected among the samples:
In mainland France:
99.6% of 21A variants (Delta, B.1.617.2, first identified in India)
0.2% of 20I variants (Alpha+/-484K/Q, V1, B.1.1.7, first identified in the United Kingdom)
<0.1% of 20A variants (Gamma, V3, P.1, first identified in Brazil)
In the Overseas Territories:
In Guadeloupe: 100% Delta variants
In Martinique: 97.1% Delta variants and 2.9% Alpha variants
In French Guiana: Did not participate in Flash Survey #21
In Réunion: 87.3% Delta variants, 10.1% Beta variants, and 2.5% Alpha variants
In Mayotte: Sample size too small to produce interpretable results; however, Delta accounts for the majority of the 5 sequenced samples with interpretable results.
