Consolidated results of Flash Survey #18 (August 3, 2021)
5,035 samples from 18 regions/territories in mainland France and overseas territories (19% of the 26,621 positive cases reported today), of which 4,290 yielded interpretable results.
The following variants of concern were detected among the samples:
In mainland France:
98.2% of 21A variants (Delta, B.1.617.2, first identified in India)
1.4% of 20I variants (Alpha, V1, B.1.1.7, first identified in the United Kingdom)
0.3% of 20J variants (Gamma, V3, P.1, first identified in Brazil)
0.1% of 20I/484K variants (B.1.1.7 + E484K, first identified in the United Kingdom)
< 0.1% of 20H variants (Beta, V2, B.1.351, first identified in South Africa)
Overseas territories:
In Guadeloupe: sample sizes too small to produce interpretable results; however, the Alpha and Delta variants have been detected.
In Martinique: 62.7% Delta variants, 37.3% Alpha variants
In French Guiana: sample sizes too small to produce interpretable results; however, the Gamma and Delta variants have been detected.
In Réunion: 59.9% Delta variants, 36.6% Beta variants, 3.5% Alpha variants
In Mayotte: sample sizes too small to produce interpretable results
