4,327 samples from 18 regions/territories in mainland France and overseas territories (16.9% of the 25,607 positive cases reported today).
The following variants of concern were detected among the samples:
In mainland France:
97.8% of 21A variants (Delta, B.1.617.2, first identified in India)
1.4% of 20I variants (Alpha, V1, B.1.1.7, first identified in the United Kingdom)
0.4% of 20J variants (Gamma, V3, P.1, first identified in Brazil)
0.1% of 20H variants (Beta, V2, B.1.351, first identified in South Africa)
0.2% of 20I/484K variants (B.1.1.7 + E484K, first identified in the United Kingdom)
Overseas territories:
In Guadeloupe: 77.1% Delta variants and 22.9% Alpha variants
In Martinique: 61.1% Delta variants and 38.9% Alpha variants
In French Guiana: sample size too small to produce interpretable results
In Réunion: sample sizes too small to produce interpretable results; however, Alpha and Delta variants have been detected
In Mayotte: sample sizes too small to produce interpretable results
