4,811 samples from 17 regions/territories in mainland France and overseas territories (23.2% of the 20,707 positive cases reported today).
The following variants of concern were detected among the samples:
In mainland France:
95.8% of 21A variants (Delta, B.1.617.2, first identified in India)
3.3% of 20I variants (Alpha, V1, B.1.1.7, first identified in the United Kingdom)
0.2% of 20J variants (Gamma, V3, P.1, first identified in Brazil)
0.2% of 20H variants (Beta, V2, B.1.351, first identified in South Africa)
0.3% of 20I/484K variants (B.1.1.7 + E484K, first identified in the United Kingdom)
Overseas territories:
In Guadeloupe: 26.7% Alpha variants and 73.3% Delta variants
In Martinique: 80.4% Alpha variants and 19.6% Delta variants
In French Guiana: sample sizes too small to produce interpretable results; however, Gamma and Delta variants have been detected
In Réunion: 60.0% Beta variants, 36.5% Delta variants, and 3.5% Alpha variants
In Mayotte: no samples included
