What is the molecular evolution of SARS-CoV-2 viruses circulating in the country? Results of Flash Survey #29

Consolidated results of Flash Survey #29 (October 19–22, 2021)

3,944 samples from 16 regions/territories in mainland France and overseas territories (32.3% of the 12,197 positive cases over the two days), of which 3,667 had an interpretable result.

The following variants of concern were detected among the samples:

  • In mainland France: 99.9% of variants 21A/I/J (Delta, B.1.617.2, AY*, first identified in India) and other non-VOC variants, including <0.1% of B.1.640.

  • In Guadeloupe: Sample size too small to produce interpretable results.

  • In Martinique: 100% Delta variants

  • In French Guiana: No participation in Flash Survey #29

  • In Réunion: No participation in Flash Survey #29

  • In Mayotte: Sample size too small to produce interpretable results.
