  • Epidemic trends:

    • Significant decline in SARS-CoV-2 circulation, with the peak in new infections occurring in week 44 and the peak in hospitalizations in week 45

    • Decrease but still at a high level in the number of new confirmed cases, emergency room visits, hospitalizations, and new ICU admissions, as well as testing and positivity rates (RT-PCR)

    • Most affected regions: Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes, Bourgogne-Franche-Comté, Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur

    • French Guiana: stabilization of SARS-CoV-2 transmission

  • Mortality:

    • Mortality remains high

    • Over 50,000 deaths since the start of the epidemic in France

  • Prevention:

    • Individual prevention measures and contact reduction must be maintained with increased vigilance as lockdown restrictions are eased

    • If symptoms develop, immediate isolation is required, and a test should be taken as soon as possible
