Reducing social inequalities in health: a challenge for Europe!

Social inequalities in health are widening in France and other European countries. The 27 member states of the European Union have spent four years developing strategies to address these inequalities. They have also identified “best practices” in this area in each country. This program, titled “Closing the Gap,” has just concluded, and another, titled “Determine,” is taking its place.
