Monitoring of Carbon Monoxide Poisoning. Update as of October 15, 2013.

Since September 1, 2013,

  • 74 cases of carbon monoxide (CO) poisoning have been reported, exposing 225 people to CO fumes, 147 of whom were transported to a hospital emergency department.

  • A mass CO poisoning incident occurred following a motocross event held in an enclosed space.

  • The Directorate General for Health, the Directorate General for Civil Protection and Crisis Management, the National Institute for Prevention and Health Education, and the Institute for Public Health Surveillance issued a press release to remind the public of preventive measures designed to avoid CO poisoning.
