Monitoring of Carbon Monoxide Poisoning. Update as of October 1, 2012
The seasonal increase in the number of carbon monoxide poisonings has not really begun yet, except in the Nord-Pas-de-Calais region.
Since September 1, 2012, 27 cases of CO poisoning have been reported to the surveillance system, compared to 47 cases reported during the same period in 2011. This difference is likely due to the particularly mild weather conditions observed over the past few weeks.
Since September 1, 2012, four cases of accidental CO poisoning (two of domestic origin and two of occupational origin) linked to the use of a generator in an enclosed space (home or construction site) have been reported to the surveillance system.
