Key Developments

Prolonged power outages were reported in certain areas of the Auvergne, Burgundy, and Rhône-Alpes regions, which were placed under an orange alert for snow and ice by Météo-France from November 20 to 24, 2013. These outages led to 17 cases of CO poisoning, primarily linked to the use of generators or makeshift heating devices (braziers, barbecues, etc.), affecting 46 people, 12 of whom were treated in a hyperbaric chamber and 4 admitted to the hospital.
