Monitoring of Carbon Monoxide Poisoning. Update as of February 17, 2013.

Since September 1, 2012, 892 cases of CO poisoning have been reported to the surveillance system, involving 2,870 people, including 31 deaths.

Over the past two weeks (2013_S06 and 2013_S07):

  • Two deaths occurred in connection with a gas furnace,

  • Two mass incidents occurred, one at a bowling alley exposing 13 people, and the second at a restaurant involving 3 people. Investigations are underway to determine the cause.
