Monitoring of Carbon Monoxide Poisoning. Update as of December 23, 2012
Since September 1, 2012, 515 cases of CO poisoning have been reported, involving 1,634 people, of whom 1,145 were transported to a hospital emergency department and 200 were admitted for hospitalization.
A mass CO poisoning incident occurred in a church due to the improper use of radiant panel gas heaters, exposing 41 people to CO fumes; six were transported to a hospital emergency department, and one person was referred to a hyperbaric chamber.
Four people died from CO poisoning during weeks 2012_S50 and 2012_S51 in three incidents caused by a malfunctioning boiler.
