Key Points
- In Week 19 (May 4–10, 2026), the number of emergency department visits and hospitalizations following such visits decreased among children under 2 years of age and remained stable in other age groups.
- Among children, there was an increase in visits for general malaise (+16%, or +105 visits); among 2- to 14-year-olds, for abdominal pain (+7%, or +196 visits) and for neurological symptoms (+18%, or +152 visits); and among children under 2 years of age, for allergies (+16%, or +26 visits).
- Among adults, there was an increase in visits for conjunctivitis (+15%, or +79 visits), and among those aged 75 and older for ENT infections (+18%, or +26 visits) and for asthma attacks (+19%, or +18 visits).
- There was also an increase in visits for suicidal behavior among children (+9%, or +17 visits) and among those aged 45–64 (+8%, or +25 visits).
