Men's Health, July/August 2010, No. 408: Supporting the Decision to Breastfeed
The main feature of this issue is devoted to breastfeeding: some fifteen experts provide an overview of current knowledge and practices, including a sociological approach to breastfeeding, the situation in France, the health benefits of breastfeeding for children, and the role of healthcare professionals in supporting mothers’ decisions regarding breastfeeding. It also features a presentation of the program implemented in Lons-le-Saunier as part of the international “Baby-Friendly Hospitals Initiative,” and the support policy implemented in Brazil. Also in this issue: several interviews and surveys on social inequalities in health, street outreach to the homeless, workplace hazards, an expert opinion on the multiple social and cultural causes of obesity, and more.
