Understanding Middle School Students' Mental Health: A Cross-Analysis of Indicators.

This article describes the mental health status of adolescents in France based on an analysis of data from the 2014 HBSC survey. Using current life satisfaction (Cantril scale) and the ability to project oneself into the future (Cantril “anticipatory” scale), a mental health indicator was constructed based on three categories (well-being, ill-being, and intermediate state). Analyses cross-referencing this aggregate indicator with various physical and psychological symptoms measured in the survey aim to better characterize mental health states in adolescence.
