Talking about AIDS in schools.
Recognizing the wide variety of professionals working on AIDS and STD issues with middle and high school students in the Ain department, as well as the frequent lack of training on appropriate intervention methods, a meeting was held bringing together professionals from the National Education System and the Maternal and Child Health Service (PMI), along with representatives from associations and organizations (Couple et Famille, Ecole des parents, Red Cross). The meeting involved a comprehensive review of perceptions of prevention, the objectives of health education initiatives, types of informational materials, and appropriate facilitation techniques, as well as a discussion on how to evaluate the effectiveness of communication on these topics. A methodological guide covering both content and form was developed to assist facilitators. The drafting of training materials by program participants, based on the emerging consensus, is planned, as well as a set of guidelines for the use of forum theater, incorporating in particular the ethical aspects of the approach.
