Support for Migrants: A Journey with Committed New Citizens

They range in age from 17 to 79. The majority of them are women. Deeply moved by the dire living conditions of migrants in their local communities, they have become volunteers, providing aid and assistance to refugees and sometimes taking them into their homes. For most of them, this is their first act of civic engagement, undertaken individually, outside of any formal organization. While effective in their efforts, they nevertheless find themselves struggling and sometimes burn out. A journey with these new, committed citizens.
