The right to breastfeed at work: poorly adapted, rarely exercised.
French law and the Labor Code stipulate that women may devote one hour of their daily work time to breastfeeding and that any company with more than 100 employees must provide a designated room for this purpose. In practice, breastfeeding is rarely practiced in the workplace because few employers are aware of their obligation and few women are aware of their right, and because it is not easy to breastfeed or to pump and store milk at work.
