Relationships and Sexuality in the Law: The Role of Consent

Although it is anachronistic, the marital duty is still enshrined in marriage law. This results in a genuine obligation to consent to sexual intercourse. In a context where the importance of free consent to sexual relations is widely accepted and no longer a matter of debate, this appears to be a form of negation of consent.
