Public policies to reconnect people with nature

The link between the environment and health takes many forms. While recent years have primarily focused on zoonoses and the impact that deforestation can have on the transmission of diseases from wildlife to humans, this topic is far from exhausting the subject. The positive impact of nature on human beings must seem obvious to a large portion of the world’s population who experience it daily. But the growing urbanization across the globe has gradually cut people off from this reality, to the point where we must turn to science to bring this issue back to the forefront of public policy.
