Provide training on suicide prevention.

Suicide prevention in France relies in particular on the training of three types of professionals with distinct roles: the sentinel, the suicide risk assessor, and the crisis responder. This strategy takes into account the most recent international scientific research. Thirty national trainers were trained in 2018–2019, and they, in turn, will train responders throughout the country. Underlying this approach is the “ethics of concern,” which involves reaching out to others and demonstrating genuine care for them.
