Pontevedra, Spain: Pedestrians Take Center Stage, Cars Reduced to the Bare Minimum [Interview].

The Spanish city of Pontevedra in Galicia has drastically reduced car traffic in its downtown area in favor of pedestrians and cyclists. Two out of every three trips are made on foot. As a result, the city has cut fuel consumption by 67% and improved safety: there were no traffic-related fatalities between 2011 and 2020.
