At Guebwiller High School: Supporting Students in Developing Their Social-Emotional Skills [Interview].

For several years now, the comprehensive high school in Guebwiller (Haut-Rhin) has been offering psychosocial skills development workshops on a widespread basis. Teachers guide students in group discussions to help them: change their perspective on their educational journey, rebuild their self-confidence by showing that progress is possible, and support them in taking responsibility for their choices, among other things. Despite numerous obstacles—mistrust, even opposition, and limited resources—these workshops have proven to be an effective tool for combating social determinism and restoring academic perseverance, motivation, and well-being at school.
