The ecological approach in action in France and Quebec.

The ecological approach drives interventions across a continuum ranging from those provided within a microenvironment (e.g., the home) to those offered in broader contexts (local communities, countries). There are numerous strategies focused on changing individual behavior (e.g., multi-topic or topic-specific educational sessions). In addition, four socio-environmental strategies can be combined at each level of intervention (interpersonal environment, organizations, communities, political environment). The comprehensive and positive approach to health creates a context conducive to new actions to promote the health and quality of life of aging populations. [author’s abstract]
