Communication: The Age of Reason?
The article provides a history of national AIDS awareness campaigns in France over the past ten years, initiated by government authorities and implemented by the AFLS and/or the CFES. It highlights the continuity of objectives, as well as the evolution of approaches and outcomes, as reflected in particular by the campaign slogans. Separate campaigns promoting condom use and solidarity with people living with HIV, initially targeting the general public, then diversified in format (TV spots, print ads) and media channels (television, radio, print media) to reach specific populations, combining both communication strategies. The evaluation of these strategies is based on their credibility among the target population groups.
