Behavior and Health: What Role Does the Environment Play?

What influence does the environment have on health behaviors? The author, a specialist in this field at Laval University in Quebec, presents a literature review and the results of his own research, focusing in particular on the determinants of physical activity. It follows that, while the environment can play a significant facilitating role, it is important in health promotion not to overlook the individual and their motivations when planning interventions.
