ITINERANCE: An innovative initiative to improve cardiorenal protection
The association between diabetes and chronic kidney disease (CKD) represents a significant public health challenge due to its prevalence and the increased risk of adverse renal and cardiovascular outcomes. "The JACARDI program (Joint Action on CARdiovascular diseases and DIabetes), funded by the European Union, aims to promote public health initiatives for residents of the project’s European partner countries, including France, in the field of cardiovascular diseases and diabetes. "Within this framework, the ITINERANCE project aims to improve the dissemination and implementation of preventive measures, in accordance with the latest recommendations, to reduce the risk of major cardiovascular events and the progression of CKD in people living with diabetes. "This initiative is based on a unique collaboration between public health stakeholders (four university hospitals and Santé publique France) and clinical laboratories—local stakeholders who play an essential role in the care of people with diabetes and CKD."
