Survival Rates for People with Cancer in Metropolitan France, 1989–2018 - Breast

In mainland France, for the year 2018, the estimated number of new cases of breast cancer among women was 58,459, and the estimated number of deaths from breast cancer was 12,146. Note: 5-year age-standardized survival rate of 88% for cases diagnosed in 2010–2015; improvement in the 5-year age-standardized survival rate from 79% to 89% between 1990 and 2015; Since 1990, the greatest increase in 5-year and 10-year net survival has been among women aged 70 (+15 percentage points and +19 percentage points, respectively), closing the gap with the prognosis for younger women; For women aged 80, there has been a modest improvement in survival, but the prognosis remains less favorable than that of younger women.
