The purpose of this guide is to present the asbestos-specific job-exposure matrix developed by ESSAT (Associated Team on Occupational Health; InVS-DST/Isped-LSTE) and the Department of Occupational Health at the French Institute for Public Health Surveillance, and to provide technical information on occupational exposure to asbestos in France. The job-exposure matrix provides, for all jobs considered to be exposed in France, the probability, frequency, and intensity of exposure between 1945 and 2007.
