Key Points

In Week 50 (December 9–15, 2024), among children under 15, emergency department visits increased (+5%, or +4,620 visits), while hospitalizations following emergency department visits remained stable compared to the previous week. Among adults, emergency department visits and hospitalizations following emergency department visits remained stable.

Regarding respiratory indicators, the increase in emergency department visits for influenza/influenza-like illness continues across all age groups (+66%, or +2,320 visits). To a lesser extent, there is also an increase among 15- to 74-year-olds in visits for bronchitis (+24%, or +309 visits) and ENT conditions (+11%, or +353 visits).
Among children under 2 years of age, visits for bronchiolitis are stabilizing.

Among other indicators, there was an increase in visits for gastroenteritis among children (+10%, or +278 visits), among 2- to 14-year-olds for specific abdominal pain (+11%, or +120 visits) and for isolated fever (+14%, or +325 visits); and among children under 2 years of age for conjunctivitis (+16%, or +36 visits).
