Key Points

Dengue, Chikungunya, and Zika

  • As of July 22, six locally transmitted cases of chikungunya (one new case compared to last week) have been detected in the municipality of Grosseto-Prugna (Southern Corsica). Additionally, another case is currently under investigation (a suspected case already mentioned last week).

  • At the same time, twelve additional clusters of locally transmitted chikungunya cases (+1 since the last update) and three clusters of locally transmitted dengue cases (+2 since the last update) have been identified on the mainland.

  • Since the start of enhanced surveillance (May 1), 3 imported cases of dengue and 3 imported cases of chikungunya have been confirmed in Corsica (no new cases compared to last week).

Heatwave

  • No heat wave is currently underway or expected in Corsica in the coming days.

  • Emergency service activity related to the heat is stable and in line with expected seasonal levels. No consultations for heat-related conditions have taken place at SOS Médecins.
